05/01/2010 - Munich, Germany (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Bayern Munich has all but mathematically clinched its 22nd Bundesliga title as a Thomas Muller hat trick propelled the club to a 3-1 win over Bochum at the Allianz Arena on Saturday.
Bayern entered the weekend level on 64 points with Schalke, but their win, coupled with Schalke's 2-0 defeat to third-placed Werder Bremen, moves the club three points clear at the top with just one game to play.
Schalke could still finish with the same amount of points as Bayern, but Louis van Gaal's side owns a 17-goal edge in goal difference, which will give them the first of potentially three trophies this season.
Muller scored twice in a three-minute span in the opening 20 minutes before completing his hat trick 20 minutes from time, while Christian Fuchs notched a consolation goal in the 85th minute for Bochum, which slips into 17th place with the loss.
There were no lingering effects from having to play on Tuesday in the Champions League for the home side, and they needed 18 minutes to take the lead as Muller used his chest to redirect a Philipp Lahm cross over the goal line from a few yards.
Muller was at it again minutes later when he nodded home a Franck Ribery volley from close range, while only the post denied him his hat trick in the 54th minute.
The third goal did arrive 20 minutes from time, and again it came from Muller, who took a pass from Mark van Bommel and eluded three defenders before slotting his shot into the bottom left corner.
Fuchs fired home a free kick five minutes from time, but his team must now beat Hannover next weekend to have any chance of staying up.
Second-half goals from Mesut Ozil and Hugo Almeida provided Bremen with its 2-0 win, leaving the club two points clear of fourth-placed Bayer Leverkusen, which was held to a 1-1 draw by last-placed Hertha Berlin, officially relegating the club.
Marco Stiepermann's goal nine minutes from time helped Borussia Dortmund earn a 1-1 draw with Wolfsburg, Freiburg secured its safety by finishing 2-2 against Koln, while two goals from Prince Tagoe in the last 10 minutes helped Hoffenheim rally for a 2-1 win over Eintracht.
Hamburg hammered Nurnberg, 4-0, with two goals from Mladen Petric, Hannover moved two points clear of the bottom three with a 6-1 thrashing of Monchengladbach and Stuttgart got two goals from Ciprian Marica to claim a 2-2 draw with Mainz.
