Minnesota's Liriano named AL Pitcher of the Month

05/03/2010 - New York, NY (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Minnesota Twins left-hander Francisco Liriano was named the American League Pitcher of the Month for April.

Liriano posted a 3-0 record with a 0.93 earned run average in four outings during the first month of the season. He allowed just three runs -- all in his 2010 debut -- on 18 hits over 29.0 innings.

It was the first monthly award for Liriano.

Tampa Bay starter Matt Garza was the runner-up for the honor after going 4-1 with a 2.06 ERA.
